A day labourer was beaten to death Tuesday night allegedly by his neighbours over a land dispute in Faridpur upazia in Pabna. The body of Ebad Ali, 60 was sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy Wednesday morning.
Kazi Zahidul Hafiz, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Faridpur Police Station, told The Daily Star that Ebad had a land dispute with his neighbour Chand Ali Member.
An altercation took place between them over the boundary of their houses at Nesarpara village Thursday evening, reports our Pabna correspondent.
At one stage, Chand Ali along with his relatives and friends attacked Ebad Ali with iron and bamboo sticks at around 7:30pm, leaving him critically injured.
He succumbed to his injuries on his way to hospital at about 10:00pm.
