A man was killed by a mob in the capital’s Moghbazar Rail Gate area Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Abdullah Masud Munna, 38, son of AHM Khorsed Alam and an
accountant of Unique Group.
The victim’s brother-in-law, Mustafizur Rahman, said local people beat him to death suspecting him to be a burglar.
Witnesses said Munna was walking in the
area at about 9:30pm and accidentally a car’s looking glass was broken in a dab of his hand but the owner shouted terming him a robber.
Hearing the scream, local people gathered and beat him up, they added.
Later the police recovered the body from nearby SK Tower at about 11:30pm.
The victim’s father filed a murder case with the Ramna police.
The Ramna Zone assistant commissioner, Shibli Noman, said 10 people were arrested from SK Tower in this connection.
Family members said Munna was dispersed as his two children died recently.
The police said the victim was beaten on the spot and later was carried to the building where he might have been strangled as a rope was found with the body.
