Muggers yesterday stabbed a sales representative of a company and allegedly snatched money from his possession at the capital’s Jatrabari.
The injured Amirul Islam, 42, an employee of Nestle Bangladesh, said he went to Jurain Bazar with two of his colleagues to collect money from shops in the evening.
A group of five snatchers stopped their vehicle near the market when they were returning to Shahid Faruque Sarani of Jatrabari with the collected money at about 6:00pm.
The muggers at gunpoint asked Amirul to give the money. They stabbed Amirul in his waist and back on his refusal and snatched Tk 5 lakh, Amirul Islam said.
His colleagues rushed him to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Shyampur Police said they heard about the incident and a team was sent to the spot.
