The results of combined medical and dental admission tests for both public and private colleges were published on Sunday evening. The directorate general of health services published the results at its website—www.dghs.gov.bd at around 6:00pm on the day.
The results were also sent to the mobile numbers of the candidates provided at the time of registration, said health services director general Khandaker M Shefaetullah.
A total of 3,344 students were selected out of 68,172 admission seekers for 22 government medical colleges and nine dental colleges and dental units for the academic session 2013-14. The admission test was held on Friday in 23 centres across the country.
A total of 631 students remain on the waiting list.
The admission process will be done by the medical and dental colleges from October 20 to November 5. The medical colleges have been asked to start classes within January next year.
Students who want their answer papers to be re-examined can apply through the pre-paid TeleTalk mobile phone from October 20 to November 5 by depositing Tk 1,000.
The number of seats in the 22 government medical colleges is 2,812 and 4,800 in 54 private medical colleges. The nine public dental colleges and medical colleges’ dental units have 532 seats, while 18 private dental institutes have 1,050 seats.
