Sylhet MC College students formed a human chain in the city on Friday, demanding immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the killers of
Ahmed Imtiaz Pavez, a third year economics honours student.
More than two hundred students participated in the human chain formed in front of the Central Shaheed Minar at Chowhatta in the afternoon.
Apart from the students of MC College, the students of other educational institutions and activists of social forums, including Friends First Organisation and Economics Club, attended the demonstration to register their protest against the brutal killing of Parvej, sources in the organisers said.
MC College principal Diresh Chandra Sarker, its economics department chief Manzur Islam Bhuiyan, Friends First Organisation president Tanwir Ahmed Tofa, student representatives Murad Ahmed, Nahid Ahmed and Al Amin, among others, addressed the rally.
The miscreants stabbed Parvej to death at Pathantula in the city Wednesday afternoon when he was returning his home from the college campus.
