Musical band Mechanix, in a short span of time, got huge fan following among the youngsters for its uniqueness in presenting metal music with melody.
The members of the heavy metal band shared their experiences, thoughts and future plans in a recent conversation with New Age.
Recently the band has released its first solo album Oporajeyo produced by Dead line music. ‘The album was like a dream-come-true for us. It is our identity and existence. We have worked very hard on the album since 2008 to make it an exclusive one for our listeners,’ said Aftabuzzaman Tridib, the vocalist of the band.
The fans of the band have been waiting for a long time to grab the first solo album of Mechanix and as a consequence 5000 copies were sold in 10 days in the capital only. The album managed to get audiences’ attention outside of Dhaka as well. On this issue, Tridib commented, ‘It was beyond our expectation and we are very happy for getting such support and love from our fans.’
Besides the solo album, the band also has been featured in several mixed albums.
Mechanix came in the lime light when it was elected as the semi-finalist of the talent hunt reality show D Rockstar. ‘We participated in the second season of the TV show in 2007 which was the turning point of our musical career,’ said Reaz, drummer of the band who was also elected as the best drummer of the show.
Mechanix started its journey by playing popular songs of Metallica, Megadeth, Judas Priest and others in the underground scenario.
Lineup of Mechanix changes only for twice and current lineup is very stable and strong with Tridib (Vocal), Nadwee (Bass) , Tamzid (Guitars) , Zeheen (Guitars) and Reaz ( Drums).
Mechanix is now focused on live performances besides improving their skill to gain more maturity with time.
‘Long Live Heavy Metal’ is the message of the band for its listeners, added Tridib.
Mechanix has a future plan to release first international album to represent Bangladeshi heavy metal music.
