Mustafiz’s Sunrisers face Sakib’s KKR today
Bangladeshi pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman might have to wait longer to play against compatriot Sakib al Hasan despite his team taking on Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League today. Mustafiz made a promising debut in the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad and is all certain to feature for them in their crucial game against KKR though experienced Sakib’s case is not the same in the KKR’s playing XI.
KKR have already played two games in the ongoing IPL but Sakib featured in none of them to show his charisma while Mustafiz is touted to be one of the biggest revelations in this season’s IPL.
Prior to leaving for IPL, Mustafiz said that he would be eagerly waiting to play against Sakib in the IPL but with the present status of Sakib in KKR it is no longer guaranteed.
While his 2-26 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in a high scoring match earned him a lot of praise from his skipper and many others associated with his franchise, Sakib’s IPL run does not look all smooth at all.
Missing the opening two matched indicates Sakib might have to wait longer. KKR preferred 44-year old Brad Hodge over Sakib and likely to stick with him unless they get a turning track.
With Sunil Narin also waiting in the wings, it will be a tough choice for them if they are to field just one spinner.
Only Narine and KKR’s current coach Jacques Kallis have taken more wickets than Sakib for the franchise in IPL.
