Former bureaucrat Mejbah Uddin Ahmed has been appointed as the chief election commissioner for the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) elections for the fifth consecutive time, as the BFF executive committee today approved a three-member election commission to conduct the upcoming October 26 polls.
Mejbah, a former government secretary, has also carried out the same duty in the previous four BFF elections since 2008.
Two other election commissioners of the commission are barrister AKM Ehsanur Rahman and additional secretary Suraiya Akter Jahan.
The BFF executive committee member Satyajit Das Rupu came up with the announcement before the press following a meeting at the BFF House.
The meeting also approved a list of 133 voting councillors, who will give their mandates in the elections to have a 21-member committee to govern the federation for a four-year tenure.
Besides, a three-member BFF 2024 election appeal commission was formed with making Mohammad Zakaria its chief.
SM Harunur Rashid and Mihir Sarwar Morshed are the other two members of the appeal commission.
