Bangladesh sprinter Mesbah Ahmed finished fifth among seven participants in the men’s 100 metre preliminary round at the IAAF World Championships in Moscow on Saturday.
Mesbah clocked 11.23 seconds in the heats as he ended his campaign in 20th place among 30 contestants in the showpiece event of the meet.BKSP athlete Mesbah, however, could not progress further as the top two finishers from each heat advanced to the final rounds.
Mesbah is the fastest man of the country, having claimed gold medal in
the 100 metre sprint at the eighth Bangladesh Games where he took 10.75 seconds, his best timing to date.
