National minority students of Rajshahi on Wednesday protested at the 34th BCS preliminary exam review results published on July 14 and demanded a review of the re-evaluated results.
They said the PSC excluded at least 280 candidates in the reviewed results who were on the first list of successful ones. The revised list, which came out on Sunday, shows that most of the dropped ones were national minorities.
Jatiya Adibashi Chhatra Parishad, Adibashi Students Association of Rajshahi University, Pahari Chhatra Parishad sent press release to the mass media and journalists organisations of Rajshahi on Wednesday regarding the matter.
Talking to New Age, a number of candidates said they were shocked to see their names dropped from the list.
On July 8, the PSC published the results of the preliminary test based on the quota system, with 12,033 candidates qualifying for the written test.
But the results triggered widespread protests among the unsuccessful candidates who said the implementation of the quota system in the preliminary phase had deprived them.
On July 14, the commission published the reviewed results, with a list of a record 46,250 successful candidates.
