The bodies of three members of a family were recovered on Friday after they went missing in the river Karnaphuli on Wednesday night.
The deceased were Md. Harun, 40, his son Maruf, 4, and his daughter Israt, 6.
Officer-in-charge of Karnaphuli Police Station Mohiuddin Mahmud said locals recovered the bodies from several points of the river.
The locals recovered the body of Harun from Dangarchar area at about 3:00am while Israth and Maruf were recovered from Jamuna oil mill area adjacent to river Karnaphuli and Boalkhali char at about 7:00am and 10:00am respectively.
Md Harun, along with his two children, went missing in Karnaphuli when a goods-laden trawler hit the boat carrying them, forcing it to sink at Sadarghat area at about 8:00 pm on Wednesday.
