The customs authorities on Tuesday said they seized 1,667 mobile sets including 200 I-Phone-V and Samsung galaxy-S from the capitals Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Customs assistant commissioner Kamrul Hasan told New Age that they seized a carton from the airport cargo on Sunday. Opening the cartoon Tuesday afternoon, they found the cell phones.
However, none was arrested in the incident.
Customs official said the mobile sets would be worth of around Tk 7 crore in Bangladeshi currency.
They said that a company titled Shah Shafi Associates brought the carton through a flight from Hong Kong on a false declaration.
