Faridpur football fans will have a chance to watch football rivals Mohammedan Sporting Club and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club play at the newly-renovated Faridpur District Stadium today.
The Faridpur District Stadium is to be inaugurated as Sheikh Jamal District Stadium after the completion of the renovation work. To commemorate the event, the Faridpur District Football Association invited the two Bangladesh Premier League giants to play a friendly match.
Minister for expatriate welfare and overseas employment Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain will inaugurate the newly renovated stadium. Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salahuddin is also expected to be present.
Faridpur District Commissioner Mainuddin Ahmed, Sheikh Jamal DC president Manjur Kader and Mohammedan director in-charge of administration Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan will also attend the match.
Both teams have kicked off their pre-season activities, with Sheikh Jamal DC beginning their camp a month ago and playing a practice match against the Bangladesh national team before the SAFF Championship. Mohammedan started their camp four days ago.
