Former Bangladesh Test skipper Mominul Haque and batter Sabbir Rahman were notable players who were overlooked in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) player’s draft on Sunday.
Mominul, who played for Dhaka Dominators in the previous edition, was allocated to Category C with a price cap of Tk 30 lakh, while no team showed interest in roping in Sabbir Rahman from Category E which had a price cap of Tk 15 lakh. Sabbir represented Khulna Tigers last time around.
Seasoned domestic circuit veterans like Farhad Reza and Alok Kapali were uncalled in the draft and pacers Mukhtar Ali and Mehedi Hasan Rana remained unsold. All of these players were grouped in Category D with a base price of 20 lakh
