Batsman Mominul Haque will lead Bangladesh ‘A’ team in the forthcoming tour of India featuring two three-day matches and three one-day matches, said the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Tuesday.
Nasir Hossain was appointed as the vice-captain for the 15-member squad that featured 10 Test cricketers including Al-Amin Hossain, who was first time included in a representative team since his expulsion from the World Cup.
The tour will begin with three one-day matches against India ‘A’ at Bengaluru on September 16, 18 and 20 respectively.
It will be followed by a three-day game against Karnataka at Mysore from September 22-24. The Bangladesh ‘A’ team will conclude their tour with another three-day match against India ‘A’ in Bengaluru from September 27-29.
Skipper Mominul is confident that his squad is good enough to put up a good show against their Indian counterparts who can be bolstered with the presence of some senior national cricketers.
‘It’s my first tour abroad as a captain so I am looking ahead to make it memorable,’ said Mominul.
‘It won’t be easy considering we will be playing against them at their own backyard but I am confident that we can put
up a good show,’ said the highest ranked Bangladeshi batsman in latest Test
ranking.
