Moniruzzaman Moni who submitted nomination paper on Sunday to contest the KCC mayoral polls has resigned from the post of general secretary of the Khulna city BNP.
He tendered his resignation letter Sunday night to the city BNP president and lawmaker Nazrul Islam Manju and it was forwarded to the Dhaka central office of the party on Monday.
Moni told New Age that he would contest the elections under the banner of Jatiyatabadi Nagarik Forum.
‘Because, my party BNP is still vacillating between hope and despair in taking open decision,’ he said.
