A woman and her daughter passed the Higher Secondary Certificate examinations this year with grade-A in Bhola municipality under the district, making the event a talk of the town.
Kawsar Jahan Shikha, 30, wife of prominent dance instructor of Bhola Shilpakala Academy Salauddin Harun passed with GPA 4.91 from Elisha Islamia Model College under Technical Educational Board.
Their eldest daughter Sanjida Ivy Borsha, also a dancer, passed the HSC with GPA 4.70 in humanities group from Banglabazar Fatema Khanam College.
“After entering married life in 1995, I became busy with the family chores. I passed the SSC in 1996. But it became difficult to continue my education as I became mother of three children,” Shikha said.
“As our only son Hasnain Chamak was a physically challenged one, I had to spend a lot of time to take care of him. After a long treatment, he became a bit well in 2013 and that gave me the time to start education afresh.
“I am thankful to my husband Salauddin Harun for his support and to teachers for their cooperation,” said Shikha.
“The glorious success of my mother proves that there is no age for education if one is determined,” said Sanjida Ivy Borsha.
