Riding on three Africans, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club bounced back to winning ways smartly with a 4-1 victory over Aramabagh Krira Sangha in the Grameenphone Bangladesh League at the Kamalapur Stadium on Friday. Emeka Christian of Nigeria and his two African compatriots Emeka Lucky and Uwiringiymana Amani of Rwanda netted one goal each in the first half, while Anwar added one in the injury time to help the title contenders to end their winning drought after their three defeats in a row before this match.
However, the Black and Whites lifted their tally to 12 points from seven matches while from as many matches Arambagh earned six points.
It was a very crucial encounter for Mohammedan after suffering three consecutive defeats. However, they looked to be determined to outlast the frustrating time as they explored their attacking movement from the beginning.
The title aspirants could have taken the lead in the very eighth minute but Emeka, who has yet to repeat his potential, as he showed wearing the jersey of Dhaka Abahani and Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club in previous two seasons, missed the initial chance.
But Emeka mended his mistake when he superbly found the mark with a glancing header on a Rony Islam right side cross to put Mohammedan into lead on 14th minute.
