Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited began their journey in the Rupahali Sarees Premier Division Chess League on a winning note as they beat Bangladesh Navy, their main challengers, on the opening day on Saturday. Tajikistanis Grand Master Amonatov Farukh, Russian GM Volkov Sergey and Bangladeshi GM Ziaur Rahman won their respective matches for Mohammedan while GM Enamul Hossain Rajib of Navy drew with Mohammedan IM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar.
