Mohammedan Sporting Club registered a 3-1 victory over Feni Soccer Club to finish their first phase campaign in the Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
Mohammedan skipper Zahid Hasan Ameli and Wahed Ahmed each
scored in the comfortable victory, while Egyptian forward Mostafa Seddik opened his account in the league.
Motiur Rahman scored a consolation goal to make the final score 3-1.
Ameli scored his fifth goal of the league in the 16th minute by converting a spot-kick after Zahid Hossain was brought down by Mowdud Ahmed inside the box.
Feni coach Omal K Cisse was forced to leave the field immediately by the referee after reacting badly to the penalty decision.
Mohammedan doubled the lead in the 25th minute when Seddik placed in a low Jahid Hossain cross from the right flank.
Wahed netted in the 48th minute, stabbing home from close range after a pin-point cross from Arup Kumar Baidya.
Substitute midfielder Motiur Rahman pulled one back for Feni in the 65th minute after Ridon set up the chance.
It was the third victory for the Black and White, who are now second in the table with 14 points from nine matches, while Feni remain in ninth place with four points from nine matches.
