Muggers slaughtered a microbus driver and snatched his vehicle at Dop-Majhgram village in Santhia upazila on Tuesday night, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Amirul Islam, son of Zabed Ali of the village. Police said Amirul went out of his house around 8 pm on Tuesday with his vehicle to refuel gas. But he did not return home since then. Locals spotted the throat-slit body of Amirul at Battala on the western side of Mukter beel (big water body) by Jhorgachha-Majhgram road on Wednesday morning and informed police. Later, the law enforcers recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy. Shahid Mahmud, officer-in-charge of Santhia Police Station, said they primarily suspected that the killing might have been committed to mug the microbus.
