Pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman is looking forward to enjoy playing in the Indian Premier League without bothering about taking an extra pressure on his shoulder.
Mustafiz left for India on Tuesday to make his debut in the cash-rich tournament where he will represent Sunrisers Hyderabad. Hyderabad made a hard fight with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the players’ auction to secure the service of the new pace bowling sensation of Bangladesh for 1.4 core rupees.
Mustafiz will team up with international stars Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, Yuvraj Singh, Trent Boult, Kane Williamson and Ashish Nehra.
He is expected to make his IPL debut on April 12 against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bangalore, where Bangladesh’s heartbreaking one run loss to India in the ICC World Twenty20 was staged.
Mustafiz said that he is not worried at all as he will be on his own in India for the first time in his first overseas domestic tournament.
‘I am excited to play for the first time in IPL,’ said the tacit teenager.
‘Please pray for me so that I can do well,’ he added.
Mustafiz will be accompanied by compatriot Sakib al Hasan in the tournament as the all-rounder has already left home to join Kolkata Knight Riders.
Mustafiz said he will miss the company of Sakib as his team-mate in the tournament.
‘I would have loved to play in the same team along with Sakib Bhai,’ said Mustafiz.
‘We could have roam together as well as have lots of fun,’ he said.
Musatafiz is the sixth Bangladeshi cricketer to take part in IPL after Abdur Razzak, Mohammad Ashraful, Mashrafee bin Murtaza, Tamim Iqbal and Sakib.
