Narinda Govt High School retained the boys group title of the Polar Ice Cream 21st School Handball Tournament beating St Gregory’s High School by 26-16 goals in the final at the Shaheed M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Sunday.
This was the 3rd consecutive and overall 7th School Handball crown for Narinda Govt. High School since in 1985.
Narinda Govt High led the first half 9-4. Zakir scored 11 and Monir netted 8 goals for the champions while Sujon scored 6 and Akash 5 for the runners-up St Gregory’s High School.
Monir of the champion team was named the best player of the tournament in boys group.
Education Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury was the chief guest in the day’s final and distributed the prizes. Director of the meet’s sponsor Polar Ice Cream Khondakar Mohammad Towhiduzzaman was present as the special guest.
