The national hockey camp will get underway from June 7 ahead of the Asia Cup in August, the Bangladesh Hockey Federation decided in an emergency meeting on Monday at the BHF office.
The 33-member national squad will begin their preparations at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan supervision under the direction of local coach Mahbub Harun.
Indian coach AK Bansal might take charge of the national team from the middle of June. BHF president Air Marshal Enamul Bari said after the meeting that the players, who continued their boycott, will join in the upcoming camp and he was also hopeful that the officials, who resigned earlier, will reconsider their decision and return to the committee.
‘I requested to the players that they should concentrate only on their game. They have no need to look into the matters of the federation or its election,’ said Enamul Bari after the meeting.
‘I am hopeful that the players will join in the upcoming camp and I told them that if they wanted to meet me I am always available,’ he added.
If the players still do not join the upcoming camp then the governing body will take their next decision in the upcoming meeting, which is scheduled to be held on June 8.
The BHF president was also optimistic that the officials, including three vice-presidents, will reassess their decision of resignation and will return to their respective posts.
