Bangladesh Swimming Federation on Thursday signed a sponsorship deal with the Bashundhara Group for the 29th National Age Group Swimming Championships starting today at the Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex at Mirpur. Bashundhara Group will provide Tk 10 lakh out of an estimated budget of Tk 16 lakh and the federation will provide food, transport fare and accommodation to all participants in the meet.
More than 500 swimmers from across the country will vie for 100 gold medals, informed the BSF officials at a press conference held at the Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium on Thursday.
‘The electronic scoreboard has always been a problem for us but I promise that it will happen this time and all timings will be recorded through the electronic board,’ said Rafizuddin, general secretary of the BSF.
The state minister for liberation war affairs, AB Tajul Islam, will inaugurate the competition today as the chief guest.
