Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan is leaving Dhaka today to have a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Zaka Ashraf, said the BCB officials on Saturday.
The BCB boss took the opportunity to settle some major issues with Zaka, who is upset after Bangladesh backed away from its commitment of sending the national team to Pakistan.
India has invited Nazmul to watch their today’s third one-day international against Pakistan in New Delhi.
The Pakistan Cricket Board also invited the BCB president and the chief executive officer to visit their country to get a first-hand experience of the security situation and to discuss bilateral issues.
BCB’s media committee chairman Jalal Yunus said among few other options the PCB president also wanted to meet his BCB counterpart in Delhi and the Indian invitation has provided him the opportunity.
The PCB president put forth several options to hold the meeting that included places in Pakistan and India. As he is currently in India the BCB president would like to take this opportunity to sit with him,’ said Jalal.
The relationship of two boards has come to an all-time low when the BCB decided not to send the national team to Pakistan for a short tour in January despite making an unconditional commitment at an ICC meeting.
The PCB in retaliation has threatened to bar its players from participating in the forthcoming Bangladesh Cricket League Twenty20 tournament, for which they have more than 50 players being auctioned off.
