The first ever SAFF Women’s Football Champion-ship will kick off on December 12 with the match between Nepal and the Maldives at 2:30 pm at the Cox’s Bazar stadium. Bangladesh Football Federation announced the fixtures of the meet on Sunday.
Hosts Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka on Dec 13, Bhutan on Dec 15 and India on Dec 17.
The women’s football teams from all the eight SAFF member countries splitting into two groups of four will play the first round matches from December 12-18 and the top two teams from each group will move into the semi-finals, to be played on December 20 and 21.
The tournament will end with the final on December 23.
Bhutan women’s football team will play a practice match with Bangladesh women’s football team at the Mohammadpur Physical Training College ground at 1:30pm today.
