Popular Dhallywood actor Nipun will play the role of quisling in a film based on the war of independence titled Ekkaturer Ma Janoni.
From the shooting location of the Shah Alam Kiran’s film on the outskirts of Dhaka the actor said: ‘it’s a dream come true offer for me.’
‘When I was approached, I instantly accepted the offer as it’s my long cherished desire to perform in a war of independence based film,’ Nipun told New Age.
Sharing the film storyline Nipun said, ‘the film portrays a rural mother who surrenders herself to the invading Pakistani army in order to save the life of her only child. She becomes the cook of Pakistani army camp but actually supplies valuable strategic information to the freedom fighters.’
‘The character is really strong. It is in one scene a brave woman who supplies information to the freedom fighters and in another scene she is a soft hearted woman who can risk her life for her child,’ Nipun further said.
The film also casts actor Agun opposite to Nipun.
Nipun hopes that Ekkaturer Ma Janoni will be released in the first quarter of next year. ‘Film on 1971 has a good demand among the people and I believe the film will also be acclaimed to the cinema-goers of the country,’ expects Nipun.
Nipun emerged as a film actor in 2006 through the movie Pitar Aashon. So far, she has acted in 22 movies and bagged the National Film Award twice for supporting roles in Shajghor and Chander Moto Bou.
