From the first day to till date 11 corpses have so far been recovered and those being identified has been handed over to the relatives after observing necessary legalities. Still there are remaining three corpses which are awaiting identifications. The coordinator of the rescue operation of the bus and the Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Mohammad Mohibul Haque said that heavy current in the river hampered rescue operation and he feared that some dead bodies may have washed away due to current and so he expected that there may still be some missing. He also said the spot where the bus was plunged the water level was very deep of about 40 to 45 feet and there was heavy current. So it was difficult for the divers to reach there. He further said that yesterday they have rescued 9 (nine) corpses and no other corpse were found there.
He assumed that some corpses may have been driven away as because the bus which was rescued had its windshield totally broken. So during rescue operation the bus was pulled when some corpses may have been washed away.
Mohibul Haq also said that as they are suspecting that some corpses may have washed away so they will carry out further searches today in that area.
