Nokia, the world leader in mobility, held a concert in the capital on Saturday night, at the Residential Model College playground in Mohammadpur as part of the festivities of the Nokia Music Carnival Concerts that took place all over the country.
The concert featured renowned Indian singer, K K, as well as two of the leading local bands, LRB and Artcell.
In the second half of November, six devices were in promotion from Nokia branded retail and other outlets all around the country. These were the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia 5310 XpressMusic, Nokia 2730 classic, Nokia 2700 classic and Nokia 6303 classic. With the purchase of these devices and upon activation of Ovi Services, customers were given a redeemable concert coupon. These coupons were redeemable for concert tickets.
The regional concerts were declared on December 8. The consumers then went to their designated Nokia branded retail, the store was specified in the redeemable coupon, and collected the concert tickets in exchange for the coupons.
The crowd started chanting before the bands appeared on stage; the atmosphere was one of excitement, of anticipation. The moment the bands stepped on stage, the crowd went mad.
KK sang some of his most famous songs. LRB rendered some of their old favourite tracks like “Shei tumi,” “Ghum bhanga shohore” and “Rupali guitar” and had audience rendering along with overwhelming nostalgia. Artcell also got a familiar welcome with tunes the crowd knew and loved.
Nokia and music are globally and locally synonymous. They have supported local music through sponsorship of albums and enabling music lovers to carry their music through XpressMusic Phones.
