Nazrul Sangeet Shilpee Parishad’s two-day Nazrul’s 113th birth anniversary celebration began on Saturday morning at the Central Public Library.
This is for the fourth consecutive time that the organisation arranged programme to celebrate Nazrul anniversary.
The event was inaugurated by seasoned ‘Nazrul Sangeet’ artist Sohrab Hossain. General secretary of Nazrul Shilpee Parishad Shujit Mostafa and mobile operator
Banglalink representative Shibly Sadiq, addressed the audience at the programme.
The organisation honoured acclaimed singers Ferdousi Rahman and MA Mannan with Nazrul Padak for their valuable contributions in practicing and promoting Nazrul’s
creations.
The organisers also recognised contributions of the 20 dedicated Nazrul practitioners from 20 different districts.
Musical segment began with a chorus performed by the child artistes, who are the winners of the Nazrul song competition organised by Bangladesh Shishu Academy.The
chorus presented Rum jhum rum jhum. They also gave a brilliant performance with popular Nazrul song Projapoti porjapoti.
Singers of Parishad grooved the crowd by presenting timeless Nazrul songs such as Biswabyapi achho tumi, Cheyo na sunoyo na, Tarun premik, Ogo antarjami, Sur o banir
mala diye and Katha kow kotha kowBoth in chorus.
Renowned Nazrul singers of the country like Fatema-tuz-Zohra, Shaheen Samad, Ratan Kumar Saha, Uttam Kumar Roy, Shyamal Kumar Chowdhury and others presented some
evergreen Nazrul songs in solo in the morning session programme.
