IUB observes Nazrul’s birth anniv

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organised a programme on Tuesday to celebrate the 114th Birth Anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, permanent campus at Bashundhara. The programme entitled Nazrul Prohor was jointly organised by the Kazi Nazrul Islam-Abbasuddin Ahmed Research and Study Centre, Art Club and Division of Students Affairs (DoSA) of the university.

50 Nazrul singers perform

Over 50 prominent and promising singers from inside and outside Dhaka presented Nazrul songs at the Bangladesh National Museum Auditorium. The two-day Nazrul birth anniversary celebrations programme organised by Bangladesh Nazrul Sangeet Sangstha ended on Sunday featuring music, dance and recitations performed by the reputed and young artistes.

Nazrul’s memory tokens displayed

Bangladesh National Museum and Nazrul Institute have jointly organised a commemorating programme marking the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam’s 114th birth anniversary. The programme includes a six-day exhibition of memory tokens of Nazrul at Nalinikanto Bhattashali Gallery of National Museum as well as a discussion and cultural programme on Sunday evening.

Tributes paid to Kazi Nazrul

People from all walks of life, including students, teachers, politicians, professionals and family members of the poet, on Saturday, offered prayers and paid tributes to national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on his 114th birth anniversary.
