Four Bangladeshi workers were killed in Muscat, the capital of Oman, on Monday when a truck carrying them lost control and hit iron barriers along the road, reports Gulf News.
The bodies of the Bangladeshi workers were transferred to the Royal Oman Police Hospital morgue in Muscat. The names of the dead could not yet be known.
About 12 workers were injured, of which six were admitted to Sur Hospital. Three of them — one Indian and two Bangladeshis — had serious injuries, a hospital source said.
The others were treated in Jalan Bani Bu Ali Hospital, added the sources.
“The accident took place in the wee hours when the Omani driver of the truck lost control and the vehicle veered off the road and hit the iron road barriers,” a spokesperson for the Royal Oman Police’s Public Relations Department told Gulf News.
The truck was carrying 18 Bangladeshi and Indian workers.
