Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Shafiqul Islam is retiring on October 30.
A gazette notification in this regard was issued by the Home Ministry’s Public Security Division on Wednesday.
Deputy Secretary Dhananjay Kumar Das signed the notification on the orders of the President.
The announcement states that retired Commissioner of Police (Additional IGP, Grade-1) Md Shafiqul Islam has been granted post-retirement leave from October 30, 2022 to October 29, 2023 by notification from the Ministry of Public Administration dated October 28, 2021.
According to the notification, he would also be eligible for retirement and post-retirement leave benefits.
On September 7, 2019, Md. Shafiqul Islam was appointed Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
