Pakistan’s fast bowler Ehsan Adil was on Saturday ruled out of the ongoing one-day series against Bangladesh, a fourth injury setback for the tourists in the past two weeks. Ehasn, 22, aggravated a hamstring injury that he was carrying while coming to the tour and is unlikely to be fit in next seven days, team manager Naveed Akram Cheema told New Age. ‘He had a minor injury while coming to Bangladesh, we thought he would be fine,’ said Cheema. ‘Today we examined him again and found that he has aggravated the hamstring injury.
‘The physio is of the opinion that he cannot recover sufficiently in next seven days, so we are sending him back.’
Ehasn did not play Friday’s first one-day international of three-match series in Dhaka.
Pakistan lost the game by 79 runs, their first defeat to Bangladesh in 16 years in any format and only second in history.
Ehsan played just two matches in the recent World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, finishing with identical figures of 1-31 on each occasions against Ireland and Australia.
The fast bowler has taken four wickets in two Tests and four wickets in six one-dayers since his debut in 2013.
Three other World Cup squad members, Sohaib Maqsood, Sohail Khan Yasir Shah, were earlier ruled out of the tour with injuries.
Ehsan was to take return flight at 7:00pm, said a team source. While he will be replaced by paceman Umar Gul.
