The missing head of a top international model was found in a soup pot, police said on Sunday, as they accused two former in-laws of her murder.
Abby Choi, 28, went missing on Tuesday. His severed legs were found three days later in the fridge of a butcher’s workshop, but his head, torso and arms were missing.
The South China Morning Post reported that on Sunday police found Ms. Choi’s missing head and some ribs in a large soup pot.
Police said they are charging her ex-husband’s father and elder brother with murder, while her mother is facing charges of perverting the course of justice. The three suspects, aged between 31 and 65, will be produced in court on Monday.
Ms Choi’s ex-husband, Alex Kwong, 28, was arrested on Saturday afternoon but has not been charged.
It was discovered after an extensive search at a cemetery and a flat over the weekend, where her feet were previously found in a fridge.
Police also found the model and social media influencer’s identity card and credit card in the ground-floor flat, which is part of a three-storey house in Tai Po, a suburban part of Hong Kong not far from the border with mainland China.
“Tools used to dismember human bodies were found in the flat, including a meat grinder, chainsaw, long raincoats, gloves and masks,” Superintendent Alan Chung said on Saturday.
According to Mr. Chung, Ms. Choi’s former father-in-law had rented the house a few weeks ago.
The superintendent said Ms Choi, 28, was having financial disputes with her ex-husband and his family. He added that “some people” were unhappy with the way he handled his financial assets.
Her two children with Mr Quang are reportedly being looked after by their mother.
Ms. Choi appeared on the cover of Monaco Fashion magazine this month. She has also appeared in publications including Elle, Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar and was a regular at Paris Fashion Week. His Instagram page, which has more than 100,000 followers, is filled with messages of condolence.
