A passenger of a private bus was killed after being pushed out by the driver’s assistant following an altercation near Matsya Bhaban in the city’s Ramna area, the police said.
The victim, Badruzzaman, 28, was an executive of private company Summit group.
Witnesses said that the transport worker pushed Badruzzaman out of the running bus (Dhaka Metro Ja:11-1694) at Matsya Bhaban intersection at about 9:30am after he protested at picking up and dropping passengers in the middle of the road in violation of traffic rules.
Badruzzaman was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and as his condition deteriorated he was shifted to another hospital for better treatment where he died at about 2:30pm.
His boy was sent to DMCH morgue in the evening for postmortem examination.
