Two more units from Bangladesh Police start operations
Two more units of peacekeepers, comprising 280 members of Bangladesh Police, started operations last Friday in South Sudan. Their mission involves protecting citizens displaced from their homes as a result of the violent chaos that broke out early this month in the Middle African country which became independent in 2011, says a Bangladesh Police press release yesterday.The number of peacekeepers was recently increased by the UN Security Council following a series of casualties in the ongoing violence, it added.
