A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking trial of those who failed to protest at the killing of a Bangladeshi girl ‘Felani’, who was shot dead by Indian border guards along the Kurigram border.
The National Forum for Protection of Human Rights filed the petition on Monday with the bench of justices Mohammad Miftah Uddin Choudhury and Jahangir Hossain.
The court will hear the petition on January 23.
The petition seeks directives to stop killing of Bangladeshis along the border and to compensate the family of Felani.
It named the home secretary, foreign secretary, secretary general of border guards, Rangpur sector commander, and the captain of 27 Rifles Battalion as defendant in the case.
