Mostafa Sarwar Farooki’s upcoming film Piprabidya has been selected for two international film festivals. The film has been chosen for the competition round of Asia Pacific Film Festival, which will take place at Brisbane, Australia in November this year. To note, Farooki’s last film Television won a grand jury award at the same festival back in 2013. The second international film festival that will feature Piprabidya is the Windows of Asian Cinema segment at the Busan International Film Festival. The festival will take place at Busan, South Korea on October 2. Farooki’s previous film Television was also screened as the closing film at Busan International Film Festival back in 2012.
The film Piprabidya, an Impress Telefilm Limited production, revolves around Mithu, a struggling young graduate. Mithu lives in the suburbs of Dhaka and ends up blackmailing an attractive movie actress. The most appealing aspect of the movie is perhaps the mind games that begin between Mithu and the film actress. One of the successes of the movie is however the comical way that Farooki has adopted to portray the mind games between the two main characters, which can ensue laugh riots at cinemas.
The film casts Sheena Chohan, Noor Imran Mithu, Mukit Jakaria, Mou Debnath, RJ Sabbir and others.
Piprabidya awaits a nationwide release on October 24.
