Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left here for New York on Sunday night on an eight-day official visit to the USA to attend the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
An Emirates flight, carrying the Prime Minister and her 134-member entourage, departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 9.40 pm. Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, cabinet members, civil and military high officials and diplomats saw the Prime Minister off at the airport.
Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to reach John F Kennedy (JKF) International Airport at 8.15 am on September 23.
On the way, the Prime Minister will have a two-hour stopover in Dubai.
The Prime Minister will address the UN General Assembly on September 27 apart from attending a number of high-level events and bilateral talks on the sidelines of the UNGA.
Hasina is expected to have meetings with her Indian counterpart Dr Manmohan Singh and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on September 28.
