According to her revised schedule Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will now travel to New York to join the UN general meeting session.
When contacted, PM’s press secretary Abul Kalam Azad said the prime minister would attend the upcoming session to project the achievements of the country to the global leaders. The final decision to attend the UN session came on Tuesday. The Prime Minister is due to visit New York from September 22-27.
Forest and environment minister Hassan Mahmud on Monday said the PM had told her cabinet colleague during Monday’s cabinet meeting about the decision not to attend the UNGA session.
