Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus announced that police verification will no longer be necessary for obtaining a passport, thereby reducing unnecessary hassle for citizens.
“Getting a passport is a basic right. We have established a rule that eliminates the need for police verification,” he stated.
While speaking at the opening session of the District Commissioner (DC) Conference at the Chief Adviser’s Office on Sunday, Yunus highlighted the government’s dedication to minimizing bureaucratic obstacles.
“There is no longer a need for such harassment. The government’s purpose is not to create barriers but to ensure that citizens receive their rights easily,” he remarked.
On the topic of birth registration, he underscored the importance of a more straightforward process.
“Every citizen should have the ability to obtain a birth certificate whenever they need it. We must simplify the process by utilizing the innovative skills of DCs,” he noted.
