Talented singer Priyanka Gope’s rendition of raga based songs enthralled the audience in the regular musical event of Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts- titled Praner Khela on Sunday.
Priyanka, who is enlisted TV and radio singer, rendered 15 songs at Bengal Gallery.
She rendered seven songs written and composed by Mohammad Asafuddowla, a former secretary of the government, including Ekon samoy holo ki tomar, Kichu hawa chilo sedin, Paro jodi esho ekbar, Etodin pore and others.
‘Being a classical vocalist, it is really enjoyable for me to sing raga based songs of Mr.Asafuddowla,’ said Priyanka .
Her soulful performance on other raga based Bangla songs of yesteryears including Ghire mor panthosala, Tumi to ekhono jete paro, Gaan geye mor din kete jai were also appreciated by the audience.
Encored by the audience Priyanka rendered a popular number of Lata Mangeshkar Behaya banshi. The evening ended with a sad-romantic Etodin pore tomai ekhono mone pore.
As a part of the programme Kamrul Hasan Mahfuz performed timeless Bangla songs on Hawaiian guitar. Mahfuz, who is also a retired government official added a different colour to the evening by playing of popular songs like
Tumi ki dekhecho kovu, Ei prithibir pore, Neel akasher niche, Anek brishti jhore and others.
