Old DOHS Sports Club, Cricket Coaching School(CCS) and BKSP won their respective matches on Thursday.
At the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Old DOHS Sports Club composed a sensational five-run win over Surjo Torun Club.
Batting first Old DOHS Sports Club scored 183 for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 37 overs (13 overs were curtailed due to rain) and then they restricted Surjo Torun Club to 178 for the loss of seven wickets in 37 overs.
Opener Imtiaz Rahman of Old DOHS notched up a fine 58 off 63 balls amid three sixers and five fours.
Rajin Saleh of Surjo Torun captured four wickets at the cost of 28 runs while Delwar Hossain bagged three wickets in the space of 37 runs.
Later, Surjo Torun’s Indian recruit Sandeep Sharma made 58 facing 88 deliveries. He hit six shots beyond the ropes.
Abul Hasan of Old DOHS grabbed three wickets in lieu of 36 runs while Mehrab Hossain (Junior) bagged a pair of wickets giving away 33 runs.
At the BKSP Ground in Savar, Cricket Coaching School posted a comprehensive eight-wicket victory over City Club.
The match had a delay start due to rain and was fixed 37-over-a-aide game.
Chasing City Club’s 141 off 36.5 overs, Cricket Coaching School coasted home in 26.3 overs making 144 for the loss of two wickets.
Cricket Coaching School’s Pakistani recruit Shahbaz Butt hit the day’s highest of 79 (not out) off 81 balls including nine fours and a six.
Earlier, Monwar Hossain of CCS claimed three wickets instead of 41 runs while Elias Sunny bagged a pair if wickets giving away 21 runs.
At the Osmani Stadium in Narayanganj, BKSP registered a thrilling one-wicket win over Victoria SC.
Sent into bat first, Victoria scored 168 for the loss of nine wickets in 32 overs (18 overs were curtailed due to rain).
In reply, BKSP reached the winning spot in 31.2 overs making 173 when they had just one wicket in hand.
Mominul Haque, Rifatuzzaman and Md Furkan of BKSP chipped in with two wickets each for 24, 37 and 38 runs respectively.
Tanveer Haidar of BKSP remained undefeated with 55 off 41 balls amid five boundaries and two over boundaries.
Shorifullah of Victoria got three wickets conceding 46 runs while Aslam Khan took two wickets for 19 runs.
