The Bangladesh Cricket Board has deferred the player transfer and recruitment programme for the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2013, according to a media release on Wednesday.
The transfer programme had been scheduled for July 25, with the league to start at the end of August. This is the fourth time the BCB has had to defer the player transfer process since March, the month originally earmarked for the league in the BCB domestic calendar.
Clubs had earlier declined to participate in the player transfer programme after the BCB ad-hoc committee announced at its July 3 meeting that August 29 will be the league’s kick-off date.
‘We hope to declare specific dates for the player recruitment programme and the start of the Premier Division Cricket League after the Board meeting on 29 July,’ said Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis chairman Mohammed Jalal Yunus in the press release.
‘The league is now expected to start in the first week of September,’ the release said.
