President-elect Md Abdul Hamid Advocate, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Opposition leader Khaleda Zia on Wednesday expressed deep shock at the loss of lives in the tragic building collapse at Savar on the outskirt of the capital on Wednesday morning. Hamid asked the authorities concerned to put in all-out efforts in the rescue operation to save the people still remained trapped inside the building and ensure the proper treatment of those injured in the tragic incident.
The President-elect asked the relevant authorities to take necessary steps to prevent such incident in the future.
Hamid prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and wished early recovery of injured.
In her message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock at the loss of lives and properties in a tragic incident of building collapse in Savar on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister said many people could manage to escape when a crack was found in the building, but scores of garment workers and employees were trapped inside believed to be dead.
She said the army and fire fighters rushed to the spot to conduct rescue with mobilization of the medical teams for treatment of the injured persons.
Sheikh Hasina conveyed profound sympathy to the members of the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls. In a condolence message, Khaleda, also leader of the opposition in parliament, said “I’m disheartened and saddened like the country’s people over the killing and injuries to a huge number of people in the collapse of Rana Plaza at Savar, Dhaka.”
Khaleda asked the authorities concerned to make arrangements for the quick and proper treatment of the injured in the incident and prayed for their early recovery. She also prayed for salvation of the departed souls and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
