The friendly football match between Bangladesh and North Korea, which was proposed to be held in Dhaka on May 14 has been postponed by the East Asian country, said Bangladesh Football Federation officials on Tuesday. ‘The match is not taking place. Because today [Tuesday] the [Agent] informed that North Korea can’t come in the short span of time and for the lack of their logistic supports. But they will come sometime in future’, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag told the reporters.
Bangladesh Football Federation had been communicating with North Korea through Celebrity Management Group and Pan Asia, the two agents, who were supposed to bear all the expenditure of the visitors’ air fares, food and accommodation in Bangladesh.
Shohag also informed that, on a desperate attempt, the BFF tried to host India and make the match on the same day but the neighbouring country did not make a positive response.
Another Asian country Singapore is connected regarding the issue and they will give their consent only after the consultation with their national team coach.
