Faisal Hyder has been appointed as the acting chief executive officer of wireless broadband operator Qubee Bangladesh replacing founding CEO Jerry Mobbs, the company said in a statement yesterday.
“It has been a pleasure living and working in Bangladesh with such a talented group of people, and is a source of great pride to hand over responsibility to members of the local team,” said Mobbs, who completed his three years with Qubee Bangladesh.
David Venn, Group CEO of Augere visiting Dhaka, said: “I would like to thank Mr Mobbs not only for building a successful business but also for developing an excellent management team that will take the company forward.”
Hyder has behind him a successful career of over 20 years in banking, manufacturing and telecoms.
Qubee’s internet users consume around 20 percent of the total national bandwidth in Bangladesh.
