Sadi Muhammad honoured
Celebrities of the country participated in the Rabindra Fair organised by private TV channel Channel-i, at its office premises on Tuesday, celebrating the 151st birth anniversary of Bengali literature titan Rabindranath Tagore.
This year’s fair was the seventh arrangement of its kind.
Eminent artists like Hashem Khan, Biren Shome and Moniruzzaman painted canvases on Tagore during the fair. Moreover, prominent and promising artistes of the country presented Tagore songs and dance recitals synchronised to Tagore songs.
Eminent Tagore singer Sadi Muhammad was honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award by Channel-i, at the fair. Noted musician Sudhin Das, celebrated Tagore singer Tapan Mahmud, Channel-i head of news Shykh Seraj and directors Jahir Uddin Mahmud Mamun and Mukit Majumder Babu, gave away a crest, a token of taka 1 lac and uttariya to the award winning singer.
Sadi Muhammad, in his speech at the event, expressed his gratitude to all the people who loved his songs and inspired him throughout his musical journey.
Singers Lily Islam, Tapan Mahmud and Mahadeb Ghosh rendered Tagore songs at the programme. Dance organisations such as Boitalik, Shur Bihar, Bhrubatan, Nrittam, Nataraj and Bhorer Pakhi presented dance recitals synchronised to Tagore songs.
